Enrolment Process
Enrolment Process
At Sunkids Centres, we understand that beginning your child’s Early Childhood Education and care journey can be an emotional experience, especially when it’s their first time being separated from family.
Our priority is to make this transition as seamless as possible for everyone involved, particularly your child.
Scheduling Tours or Visits
We invite interested families to tour our Centres at their convenience. All tours are arranged at the Centre level by our Centre Managers.
Stay and Play
We invite families to join us for “Stay and Play” sessions, allowing children to become familiar with our environment while in the comforting presence of their family members. This is especially encouraged if it’s the child’s first time experiencing a significant separation. During enrolment, our Educators work closely with parents to ensure a smooth and quick settling-in process.
The Importance of The Enrolment Process
At Sunkids, we believe that the enrolment and orientation experiences significantly shape the quality of your relationship with our Centre. During enrolment, we warmly welcome parents and children, providing them with essential information about the Centre, Sunkids policies and procedures. To ensure the safety of all children, we gather necessary information on enrolment forms, which is kept purely confidential.
Communication of Enrolment Requirements
From your initial enquiry, our Centre Managers will reach out to you. If we can’t reach you by phone, we’ll send an email inviting you to visit our Centre. During your visit, we’ll give you a comprehensive tour and explain everything that Sunkids has to offer. We’ll also discuss the most effective way to exchange information, whether through verbal or electronic communication.
Assessing Child Readiness for Enrolment
Sunkids are inclusive of all children, there is no assessment completed as all children develop at their own pace. We understand that not every child adjusts in the same manner; some may be comfortable with full-day care right from the start, while others may require a gradual transition, starting with shorter visits. Our approach is highly flexible and can be adjusted as needed to ensure that every child experiences a sense of security and comfort in their new environment.
Special Considerations and Accommodations
For children with unique needs or circumstances, we follow a specific pre-enrolment process to ensure their safety and well-being, as outlined in our Inclusion Support Policy. Additionally, we may implement other policies and procedures tailored to specific special needs, such as our Medical Conditions Policy.
Admission Decisions and Fees
If there’s availability when you enquire, our Centre Manager will offer you a position. If we have no vacancies, we’ll collect your details and contact you once a spot becomes available. There is a $40 enrolment fee to secure your placement when a position is offered.
Documentation and Information Required
Sunkids have an online enrolment portal called Kindy Forms. It’s a step-by-step process to collect all the necessary information.
Deadlines and Timelines
We often have high demand for care, so after offering a position, completed enrolment forms must be returned within 48 hours to secure the spot.
Handling Waitlists
When a vacancy arises, we’ll offer the spot to the next family on the waitlist. We’ll arrange for a visit, introduce your child to the Centre, and familiarize them with our Educators. During the visit, your child can participate in activities or observe. Once you decide to enrol, our Centre Manager will guide you through the enrolment process.
Communication of Admission Decisions
Once you submit an enquiry, our Centre Managers will contact you via phone. If we can’t reach you by phone, we’ll send an email.
